WHAT IS THE WORST THING YOU WERE SERVED GROWING UP?
(October, 2020) Reddit asked people about the worst dish their family made growing up. Some of the responses:
– “Bean boats. Toast covered in baked beans with Velveeta melted over top.”
– “My grandma used to combine the bottom crumbs of various cereals into one tub and give it to us with powdered milk for breakfast.”
– “It’s called hot chicken in Quebec – shredded chicken between non-toasted white bread with brown gravy dumped on top. And canned grey peas.”
– “Grape Salad, which was mostly Miracle Whip with some grapes, green onions, and sliced deli ham sprinkled in.”
– “Every Easter my dad used to have the whole head of a sheep cooked in soup and he absolutely loved it.”
– “My Dad’s second wife made canned soups (store brand, Campbell’s was too pricey), and wouldn’t stir it properly so instead of a watery mushroom soup it’d be globs of condensed soup in the bottom of hot water.”
* Dad’s second wife must have some other talent that Dad liked. Wink-wink.
