WHAT'S THE WEIRDEST RULE YOUR FAMILY HAD?

(May 2015) Reddit asked its readers, What’s the weirdest rule your parents had? Some of the answers:
– I was not allowed to watch Scooby Doo because it glorified the occult.
– Once per school year I could stay home from school, no questions asked.
– No internet in this house because killers will use it to find and murder us.
– We couldn’t have anything to drink when eating dinner, not even plain water was allowed.
– Not being allowed to get ice cream from ice cream trucks.
– We were only allowed to sit on the living room furniture on Sunday. The rest of the week we had to use the den.
– I could not leave the street I lived on until my freshman year of high school.
– Don’t drive with the car window down or you might get face paralysis.
* I’m beginning to realize I had a normal childhood after all.
* Hold on while I lock the studio door. All this paranoia is making me edgy.
* Nothing to drink with dinner? Hopefully they had soup a lot.
* Maybe the idea was to make sure everyone was thirsty for the blood sacrifice.
* I just knew there was something powerful in certain minutes. Especially when they said, “Knock it off this minute.”
* Then there was that whole “Don’t make me come up there.”
* As far as weird rules, I’m drawing a blank. My God, I must have been raised by anarchists.
* There was something about eating everything on your plate or else there would be another Great Depression, but I never figured that one out.
