MOST ANNOYING AIRPLANE PASSENGERS
(Dec 2014) Expedia.com took a survey to find the Most Annoying Airplane Passengers. The study, conducted by global research firm GfK, asked 1,000 Americans to rank the most annoying on-board behaviors of fellow passengers.
1. Rear seat-kickers
2. Inattentive parents
3. Smelly passengers
4. The passenger who doesn’t realize how loud he/she is
5. The drinker
6. Chatty Cathy
7. Carry-on baggage offenders
8. Armrest hog
9. Seat-back guy
10. Line jumper
11. Overhead bin inconsiderate
12. Pungent foodies
13. Back-of-seat grabber
14. The guy who reads/watches adult content
15. Amorous (inappropriate affection)
16. Person who gets up to use the bathroom constantly
17. Undresser (removes shoes or more)
18. Seat switcher
As for reclining your seat, which caused a stir earlier this year, the survey found:
– 32% of men say they do not recline seats, while 38% of women do not recline.
– Just 12% recline immediately after takeoff or when the person in front of them does.
– 23% of American airline passengers ask permission of the passenger behind them before they recline.
* Is it really in Expedia’s best interests to remind us how much traveling sucks?
* We can add a new one based on the Lufthansa story today: How about the passenger who arrives with a falcon?
* And you thought it was going to be the same old list.
* Person who gets up to use the bathroom constantly? Hey – it’s better than the alternative.
* What about the guys who have those directional laptop screens so you can’t see their porn from your seat?
* How about the Babe who asks you to join the Mile High Club and it turns out to be an ad for burgers?
* You know the sad thing? If you fly at all you, you’ve experienced pretty much everything on the list.
* Heck, you can get most of these on one flight.
* Watching amorous behavior isn’t all bad, but that stuff should be left on the ground with airport security.
