WHEN DID YOU BECOME YOUR MOTHER?

We all become our parents eventually. When did you first hear your mother coming out of your mouth?
– When you did the “I’m giving you til the count of 3 to get this room picked up” routine.
– When you tell the kids to turn down that awful music.
– When you hear yourself say, “Take a jacket.”
– When you hear yourself say, “I’ll give you something to cry about.”
– When you hear yourself say, “I’m your mother, not your maid.”
– When you bought the minivan.
* I think it was the time I sent myself to my room for being bad.
* How about the universal warning, “Don’t make me come up there.”
* Then there’s the classic, “Don’t forget to say thank you.”
* How about “Who’s been drinking all my vodka?”
* On the bright side, we’ll never have to say “Who scratched my favorite record?”
* I think we get modern versions of what our mothers used to say like: “Oh, Timmy told you to text that. Well, if Timmy told you to text yourself naked would you do that too?”
* Who else repeats this one? Anytime there are bad driving conditions from the weather I describe them the same way as my mother did: “It’s treacherous out there.”
