(September, 2024) Reddit asked, “What was your worst job?” Some of the responses:
– “I worked for a pest control company, who would do heat treatment. They put a whole bunch of crazy hot heating stands out and crank them up overnight. The place would heat up to a couple hundred degrees. The bugs would comes out of the walls and crevases due to the heat and fry right out in the open. My job was to go in the next day and sweep up 1000s of toasted dead bug bodies.”
– “Telemarketing for a company that sold expired canned products, like creamed corn.”
– “Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Had to a wear a full suit every single day with a white shirt. Had to get their early to check in cars that got dropped off over night, and wash them all while wearing a suit. Awful in the hot summer, and also awful in the winter.”
– “I sprinkled mud onto potatoes that had already been washed so that they would look freshly dug when they hit the supermarket. Most depressing holiday job I’ve had.”
– “Zookeeper. I know some love it, but I only lasted 2 weeks. I puked every day cleaning that cathouse, I didn’t know anything could smell that bad.”
