BREAKING UP WITH SOMEONE BECAUSE OF AN “ICK”

(January, 2023) A poll of 2,000 adults by dating site Seeking found over half (65%) have ended a relationship because of an ‘ick’ — a trait that turns them off. Some of those Ick Factors:
– Because they smelled bad.
– They were obsessed with horoscopes.
– They clapped when a plane landed.
– They wanted to share food on a first date.
– They wore a tacky watch.
– They had dirty fingernails.
– They had bad teeth.
– They had weird color lipstick. (Yikes! Imagine if someone had bad teeth AND a weird lipstick color.)
– Not wearing socks with shoes.
– They wore socks to bed.
– Using a baby voice.
– Breathing heavy.
– They had a bad tattoo.
– Wearing bad jeans.
– They had too many shirt buttons undone. (* Men only, I presume.)
– They had an Instagram account for their pet.
– They used emojis in texts.
– They wore sunglasses indoors.
– They referred to their favorite sports team as “we,” as if they were part of the actual team.
* Although there are actual members of the (Texans/Broncos/Cardinals/Bears/etc.) who won’t refer to themselves as “we” when talking about their teams.
* Perhaps before your next date you should give the other person an itemized list of your 700 “pet peeves.”
* Did anyone ever end a relationship because the other person was too “judgy”?
* I’ve never clapped when the plane landed, but I once got the clap AFTER the plane landed, on a student trip to Europe.
