SEVEN MONTHS TO GET TO THE COMFORT ZONE WITH YOUR PARTNER

(February, 2019) A new survey from Mattress Firm of 2,000 coupled-up American couples looks at how long it takes before you’ve entered the “comfort zone” with the other person. In general, it takes seven and a half months before you’re comfortable to do things like letting the other person take care of you when you’re sick, or not wear make-up, or not shave your legs. Here are some more:
– It takes five months before you’re comfortable sleeping in bed with your partner.
– It takes nearly five months before they’re comfortable showering at the other’s place.
– Six months to get to the point where sitting in silence isn’t awkward.
– Six months to introduce a significant other to their parents.
– Seven months to feel comfortable using the bathroom with the door open.
– Seven months for couples to have their first talk about marriage/kids.
– However, it takes an average of eight months for couples to feel comfortable enough to share a Netflix or Hulu account, the survey found.
* Sleeping, sex, showering… sure, any time. But your Netflix password… that’s important. That matters.
* Wait – I’m supposed to be shaving my legs?
* It takes five months before you’re comfortable sleeping in bed with your partner. Or five Long Island Iced Teas.
* “Entered the comfort zone” sounds so much better than “You’ve stopped trying”.
* What’s really awkward is it took no time at all for her parents to feel comfortable using the bathroom with the door open at our place.
* PHONE TOPIC: We’ve been together (BLANK) and I still won’t let my partner see me (BLANK).
