The relationship website YourTango.com talked to 11 men about what makes a woman “wife material.” Here are “11 Things That Determine If You’re Wife Material, According to Men”, according to author Amanda Chatel:

#10. You love your past mistakes.
#9. You don’t publicly embarrass.
#8. You have your own life.
#7. You’re affectionate.
#6. You challenge him.
#5. You can cook.
#4. You laugh.
#3. You accept without reservation.
#2. You have insatiable intellectual curiosity.
#1. You love in equal measure.
* They left out the most important one. Right, fellas?
* Of course, I mean “You have a lucrative career.” What did YOU think I meant?
* Eleven men! Did the writer even get out of her chair for this one, or did she just flag guys down as they were walking by?
* Go ahead and have your own life – just not when you’re supposed to be cooking.
* “Are you challenging me? That’s cute. But shouldn’t you be cooking?”
* They left out “You can get to the point of a story in 30 words or less.”
* I’m sorry but I object to the phrase “wife material.” That implies a wife is some kind of object and I won’t stand for that. (That should get me some later.)
* They interviewed 11 men? Way to knock yourselves out. They wanted an even dozen but who can absorb that much raw data?
* You accept without reservation? Good luck finding that.
* You love in equal measure? How many other guys are we talking about here?
* And lastly, “You know those pants make you look fat and you couldn’t care less.”
