EYE DOC TAKES OUT BOGUS LOANS TO FUND LAVISH LIFESTYLE FOR GIRLFRIEND
A Brooklyn optometrist took out millions of dollars in bogus loans under the names of other doctors at his practice – then used the stolen cash to fund a lavish lifestyle of casino junkets and shopping sprees for his actress girlfriend. Prosecutors say that Dr. Maksim Grinberg, 43 and former beauty pageant contestant Terezia Revesova, 28, rang up huge bills at Bergdorf Goodman, partied at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City and even leased Mercedes and Audi luxury cars with $3.4 million of illegal money. The eye doctor allegedly raised the funds by taking out loans for medical equipment in the names of seven doctors who worked for him, and used part of the money to rent a high-end apartment in Battery Park City. His girlfriend, Revesova, came in sixth at the Miss Czech and Slovak America pageant in 2011, and landed one acting role, as a bartender in the little-known 2015 film titled “Network.”
* Blinded by love?
* I guess she blurred his judgement.
* He made the same mistake America keeps making – no exit strategy.
* The problem with dating an optometrist is, during sex, he’s always asking “Better this, or this? Better one, or two? One … or two?”
* Put her on the stand. Maybe this will be ruled as justifiable.
* Hey, if they’re not worth throwing your life away on them, why even bother?
* He spent most of the money partying his brains out with the hottie. The rest of it he just wasted.
* How would you like to be at the staff meeting where they first brought this up?
* And you could tell the medical equipment loans were bogus. I mean what eye doctor would spend a million dollars on a kaleidoscope?
