THE LEAST-BITEY DOG BREEDS

(May, 2017) Looking for a kid-friendly dog for the family? According to Andrea Arden, Animal Planet’s Pet Expert, here are some recommendations for the most kid-friendly breeds:
1. French bulldog, a smaller dog that is still physically durable.
2. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
3. Weimaraners, which are durable and have a high enough energy to keep up with kids.
4. St. Bernard, which are unlikely to be too rambunctious with children, and instead are fairly sedentary.
5. Collies have a reputation for being kind and calm, although their herding instincts might lead to them nipping at the shirttails of children.
6. Rottweilers. Despite being commonly known as guard dogs, rottweilers actually tend to be great with kids and are extremely trainable.
7. Labradors and golden retrievers are usually pretty sweet, but actually tend to be mouthier than most people think, which families should consider.
* If you want something durable with enough energy to keep up with kids, buy a pair of sneakers.
* “The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel”? Sounds expensive.
* Anyway, you don’t want a dog that’s cavalier, you want one that will care about you.
* Weimaraners like to chase joggers and bicyclists, so that could be good for some laughs.
* Rottweilers are also good if your kid just wants something to ride around the house.
* If you’re getting a St. Bernard, you might as well just get a pony. Less drool.
* Least-bitey dog breeds is nice. Do they have a list of least-poopy?
