SUCCESS IN LIFE COMES DOWN TO THIS: TUCKING YOUR SHIRT IN
(September, 2015) Underwear maker Fruit of the Loom asked 1,000 men ages 25-60 about the quality of their lives in relation to happiness, optimism, social status, income and relationships. The survey found that in each of these, men who tucked in their shirts came out on top of those who don’t. The survey found:
– 60 percent of shirt tuckers are happier on the job.
– They are 22 percent more likely to be optimistic about their future.
– They earn 19 percent more money than the slouchy non-tuckers.
– They have more dates.
– Tuckers are 10 percent more likely to report being socially outgoing.
* I thought they were supposed to be making underwear?
* That must have been an odd survey. “Are you happy at your job?” “Do you make a satisfying income?” “Do you have healthy relationships?” “Oh, one more thing – Do you tuck in your shirt?”
* Is this really a voluntary choice? I mean, can a corporate lawyer for Proctor and Gamble actually show up to work with his shirt hanging out?
* Ever get the feeling the world has too many statistics?
* If you want even more success in life, don’t just tuck your shirt into your pants – tuck it into your underpants.
