DO PLANTS MAKE YOU WORK BETTER?

(September, 2014) Having plants in your office can make staff happier and more productive, researchers have claimed. Researchers from Cardiff University’s School of Psychology studied the effects of greenery on staff’s perceptions of air quality, concentration, and workplace satisfaction, and monitored productivity levels in two large commercial offices in the UK and The Netherlands. The research suggests office plants will pay off through an increase in office workers’ quality of life and productivity. Simply enriching the space with plants served to increase productivity by 15%.
* There is one exception, however: a marijuana grow house.
* So, the most productive workers in the world must be those in a flower shop.
* I like plants. They make it seem like I’m working harder.
* The only drawback: When you’re doing so little work that the plant maintenance person tries to water you.
* I’ll tell you the plant that increases MY productivity: the coffee plant.
* How come every time some study wants to pull a number out of thin air, it’s 15%?
* I say put some plants in a car factory. If they make 15% more cars I’ll think about believing you.
* I can just hear the office workers talking: “Hey, see those people? They’re doing a study. Everybody better work harder for awhile.”
