SHOCK: KIDS TODAY PREFER TO COMMUNICATE VIA SMART PHONE

(October, 2017) A new survey finds that 7 in 10 millennials and the younger Generation Z prefer to communicate digitally – mostly by text message – than in person. Researchers at LivePerson polled more than 4,000 young adults under between age 18 and 34:
– 65 percent of those surveyed indicated they talk to peers more frequently via texting or a cell phone.
– 73 percent prefer text messages.
– 62 percent would rather forget their wallet at home than their phone when going out.
– 70 percent said that they slept within arm’s length of their phone.
– 51 percent said they’d check their phone for any notifications if they wake up in the middle of the night.
– 66 percent bring their device with them to the bathroom.
* Ask your kids about this survey. Text them.
* Smartphones – the new heroin.
* I’m confused – does this mean we’re more connected to each other, or less connected?
* We’re more connected to others, but also more distant. Weird.
