WHAT NOT TO SAY TO A PREGNANT LADY

(May, 2017) Therapist Anastasia Pollock gives us a few ideas of things to avoid when talking to a pregnant woman.
– Commenting on the size of the belly.
– Telling pregnancy and birth horror stories.
– You know what causes that, right?
– Asking if the pregnancy was planned.
– Touching the belly.
– You don’t look pregnant from behind.
– Telling mom what she should or should not be doing now or after baby comes.
* Also wrong to say:
– What got into you?
– Did you ever see “Alien”?
– “Would you like a foot rub?” Particularly, if the pregnant lady is a total stranger.
– Race you to Arby’s?
– Moooo!!!
– So, when are you going on Maury Povich?
– “You should let the internet choose your baby’s name.”
– Is it mine?
– Put down that eclair!
– What sex do you hope the baby will choose after it comes out?
