ARE YOU A PSYCHOPATH? TAKE THIS HANDY TEST.

(April, 2014)
Professor Robert Hare is a criminal psychologist, and the creator of the PCL-R, a psychological assessment used to determine whether someone is a psychopath. His description of a psychopath is someone so emotionally disconnected that “they can function as if other people are objects to be manipulated and destroyed without any concern.” Here’s a list of 20 criteria. Score 0 if it doesn’t apply to the person, 1 if it partially applies, or 2 if it fully applies.
– glib and superficial charm
– grandiosity
– need for stimulation
– pathological lying
– cunning and manipulating
– lack of remorse
– callousness
– poor behavioral controls
– impulsiveness
– irresponsibility
– denial
– parasitic lifestyle
– sexual promiscuity
– early behavior problems
– lack of realistic long-term goals
– failure to accept responsibility for own actions
– many short-term marital relationships
– juvenile delinquency
– revocation of conditional release
– criminal versatility
A pure, prototypical psychopath would score 40.
* Well, there goes our sales department.
* Putting things in lists of 20 is also a sign.
* Poor behavioral controls? Back off when you say that.
* I don’t have time to take this test, ’cause I have to clean up all this blood.
* Summing up: Most major politicians of the last century.
* “They can function as if people are objects to be manipulated and destroyed without any concern.” So, like corporations? Yeah, I’m lookin’ at YOU, General Motors.
* I read the article and the funny thing is the professor was a borderline psychopath himself.
* How dumb. You publish the list so the psychopaths know how to hide it better.
* Grandiosity? You mean like me trying to make this the best darn radio show of all time?
