RESTAURANT SERVES POPEYE'S CHICKEN AS THEIR OWN
Sweet Dixie Kitchen, a small popular restaurant in Long Beach, California, specializes in comfort food with a Southern influence. And if you order chicken there, you’re going to be eating Popeye’s chicken. Sweet Dixie’s was called out by a Yelp user who claimed, “Before my friends and I got seated we saw them quickly bring in two large boxes of Popeyes to the kitchen.” He asked the waiter how they cooked their fried chicken, and the waiter admitted that they do in fact use Popeyes. Sweet Dixie Kitchen owner Kim Sanchez defends her choice of chicken, saying, “We PROUDLY SERVE Popeyes’ spicy tenders – the best fried chicken anywhere and from New Orleans.” Sanchez claims that she has always been upfront with the use of Popeye’s. “We wrote it on our board in the restaurant, ‘Imported from Louisiana this week, thank you Popeyes.’”
* Then the waiter brought the mashed potatoes in a plastic container from Boston Market.
* Why would you go to one restaurant wanting to be served food that comes from another restaurant? Other than Arby’s, I mean.
* So which restaurant do you go to if you want chicken from KFC?
* I hope at least their fries are from McDonald’s.
* If nothing else, this story is going to make me want to try Popeye’s.
* PHONE TOPIC: Is it wrong for a restaurant to serve someone else’s food as their own?
