ZOO BANS WOMAN FOR GETTING TOO CHUMMY WITH CHIMP

The Antwerp Zoo in Belgium has banned a woman for loving one of its chimpanzees too much. Adie Timmermans has spent the last four years visiting Chita, a 38-year-old chimpanzee, every week. She and Chita blow kisses and wave to each other. But zoo handlers say the friendship has caused problems and Chita now needs to concentrate on socializing with other primates. Adie is devastated, saying, “I haven’t got anything else. Why do they want to take that away?”
