ZOO ASKS PUBLIC TO STOP SHOWING GORILLAS THEIR CELL PHONES
The Toronto Zoo has placed signs around its gorilla enclosure asking guests to stop showing cell phone videos to it apes — because “some content can be upsetting and affect their relationships and behavior within their family.” Hollie Ross, a behavioral husbandry supervisor at the zoo, said not all videos are problematic but that the zoo would prefer to control which ones get shown. The zoo does show the gorillas different videos in their back-of-house area. They apparently like to see other animals and nature documentaries. But, says the zoo, “We just want to make sure that we know what they’re watching.”
* This is how you get Planet of the Apes, people. They’re going to figure out how to become influencers, and that’s all she wrote.
* This is like trying to get your wife to stop showing you cat videos. Not gonna happen.
* Can we show them our vacation slides?
