WORLD’S BEST CITY: EDINBURGH
An updated list of the world’s best cities has been released by travel company Time Out. The company quizzed 20,000 people around the world and asked them what made their city the best to visit and live in. The Top Ten:
1. Yes, as you probably guessed, it’s Edinburgh, Scotland. Locals voted it “the most walkable city” making it ideal for visitors looking to explore the city‘s historic landmarks, architecture and scenic hot spots on foot.
2. Chicago, Illinois, thanks to its stellar food and drink scene.
3. Medellin, Colombia. Once the home of drug lord Pablo Escobar, Medellin has turned itself around to become “the place to visit for those looking for a good time”. The city scores high for its nightlife and partying, and for community spirit.
4. Glasgow, Scotland
5. Amsterdam, Netherlands
6. Prague, Czechoslovakia
7. Marrakech, Morocco
8. Berlin, Germany
9. Montreal, Canada
10. Copenhagen, Denmark
* So, one of the requirements of a great city is a constant overcast.
* “We were going to go to the waterpark this summer, but Edinburgh it is, kids!” You know how they love to walk to historic landmarks.
