WOMEN WHO EARN MORE THAN THEIR HUSBANDS STILL DO MORE HOUSEWORK
A study from the University of Bath, England, of more than 6,000 heterosexual marriages across North America found that women who are the breadwinners in their family – they earn more than their husbands – still do more housework than their spouse. Study author Dr. Joanna Syrda says, “The more they earned over their partner, the more housework they did.” She theorizes that what may be happening is that, when men earn less than women, couples neutralize this non-traditional situation through housework – in other words, wives do more and husbands do less as they try to offset this ‘abnormal’ situation by leaning into other conventional gender norms.”
* Or the husbands could be lazy freeloading jerks.
* Look, ladies, those video games aren’t gonna play themselves all day.
* If only women had that male gene that lets you live comfortably in filth.
* Just take the amount of money you earn over your husband, hire a maid and spend the rest on a spa day. Problem solved.
