WOMAN WAKES UP WITH SNAKE IN HER BED

A Tennessee woman was awakened in the middle of the night by a 3-foot snake slithering across her body. Christine Humphries awoke just after 2 a.m. thinking her cat had touched her arm, but a few minutes later realized it wasn’t cat fur. When she raised her head up without moving her arm, she saw a small head. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the home and removed the snake, identified as a non-venomous rat snake. It was relocated to the nearby woods and released. Humphries said she believes the snake got into her home through a basement flood drain.
