WOMAN SUES CRYOTHERAPY COMPANY
Not so long ago, the hot new health craze was cryotherapy, where you are stuck in a 300-degrees-below-zero capsule for a few minutes. Supposedly, it would ease pain and enhance your mood. A Westchester, New York woman is suing the Equinox gym, and Nordic Cryotherapy, claiming the treatment left her with severe injuries from frostbite. Cherie Glassman, 50, claims she was invited to try cryotherapy at a mobile treatment center in June. She complained during the session, but was ignored. According to the lawsuit, Glassman suffered permanent scarring to her arms and torso and needed skin grafts. Cryotherapy treatment came under scrutiny two years ago after it resulted in the death of a woman in Nevada.
* And her husband claims she’s now frigid.
* All the cryotherapy did was make her cry.
* She simultaneously got frostbite and got burned.
* On the upside, she can eat a gallon of ice cream and never get a brain freeze.
* It doesn’t help that the company told her to just chill.
* As if all this wasn’t enough, now she has to hear “Frosty the Snowman” over and over.
* PHONE TOPIC: Have you ever been suckered in – er, tempted to try a new “therapy”? How’d that work out for you?
