WOMAN SAVES TWIN SISTER FROM CROCODILE
A 28-year-old British woman is fighting for her life in Mexico after being attacked by a crocodile — which her twin sister fought off. Melissa Laurie, a zookeeper, was swimming at night at the popular Manialtepec Lagoon near the Mexican resort of Puerto Escondido as part of a tour with her sister, Georgia, when the crocodile attacked and pulled Melissa underwater. Georgia, a trained diver, sprang into action, diving under water to search for her sister — before finding her floating face-down on the surface a few minutes later. Holding her sister, she swam toward the tour boat, but the croc returned and attacked both women. This time Georgia punched it three times in the head. Both women suffered severe bite injuries, and Melissa has been placed in an induced coma while she heals. According to the girls’ father, they had asked specifically if it was safe to go swimming and the guide had said it was.
* Yes, but he said that from inside the boat.
* Nobody told the crocodile.
* Boy, if you can’t trust a tour guide whose job it is to tell you what you want to hear, who can you trust?
* Make that the FORMERLY popular Manialtepec Lagoon.
* The twin sisters have always been pretty chummy.
