WOMAN HAD COCKROACH IN HER EAR
A Florida woman had a cockroach crawl into her ear while she was sleeping. Katie Holley woke up after feeling “like someone had placed a chip of ice in my left earhole.” She went to the bathroom and used a cotton swab to investigate. When she pulled the cotton swab out, there were two dark brown, skinny pieces stuck to the tip. She realized they were bug legs. Her husband tried to pull the rest of it out with a pair of tweezers but only managed to get two more legs out. They rushed to the local hospital where a doctor sprayed Lidocaine in her ear. She felt the roach in the throes of death, lodged in her ear which, Holley said, “is unlike anything I can adequately explain.” The doctor removed what he said was the entire cockroach in three pieces. Nine days later, she was still experiencing pain. A doctor flushed her ear four times and discovered what might be another leg. The flushed it yet again and found even more remnants of the roach’s carcass, nine days after the incident took place. After that, the doctor suggested she see a specialist to ensure the entire bug was removed. An ENT was able to further extract the entire head, upper torso, more legs and an antennae. The ENT told her she was the second case he had seen that day.
* Alright, Katie, that’s it. You have GOT to stop putting peanut butter in your ears.
* I MEAN it this time!
* Does she get to go back and slap the first doctor who said he pulled out the whole thing?
* And you thought earworms were annoying.
* We’ll have an update in a couple days, once the eggs hatch.
* That’s FLORIDA, in case you need to be reminded.
