WOMAN ATTACKED BY DAZED, VAGRANT OWL
In Tuscon, Arizona, a woman spotted a great horned owl on the road late Monday that looked disoriented. It appeared to have been stuck by a car. She picked up the owl and drove away for help – until it came to and attacked her inside her car. The owl latched onto her sleeve and steering wheel, and wouldn’t let go – she was trapped inside her car. The woman’s mother contacted the Arizona Game & Fish Department who told her to pour water on the owl in an attempt to jar it loose, but instead the animal drank the water and kept its talons dug into the woman’s sleeve and her car’s steering wheel. The owl ultimately released its grip and hopped out of the car. The bird appeared to be OK and the next day was spotted by the woman’s mother in the same area.
* She should have tried offering it a Tootsie Pop.
* Taking a wounded wild owl into your car. Not wise.
* “I’m not letting go ’til you drive me to Saguaro National Park!”
* As horned owls go, this one wasn’t so great.
* Let me guess – the woman was on her way to Texas to adopt some bobcat kittens.
