WHAT NONSENSE WORD DID YOU INVENT?
Fark.com asked its readers, “What nonsense word did you personally come up with?” Some of the answers:
– Ignopotomus
– Scrotatious
– Zontar: the TV remote
– Indignorance: when you’re mad as heck, but have no idea why
– Crackenbracker, as in “Holy Crackenbracker”
– Plerk: the sound a rock makes when you toss it in the lake
– Ffffft: a can of whipped cream, because that’s the sound it makes coming out
– Froshmurple: an imaginary color outside the visible spectrum of light
– Ramaframus: the name of a tool or part that you need for the job, but you don’t know what that tool might be
– Rumacall: the name of the thing you’re looking for that you can’t remember
– Harjafalders: as in “She kicked me in the harjafalders.”
(Note: For more nonsense word fun, Google “sniglet”. Comedian Rich Hall, while performing in the HBO series Not Necessarily the News (1983-1990), coined the term “sniglet” as “a word that doesn’t appear in the dictionary but should” and between 1984 and 1990 compiled several volumes of sniglets.
