WELSH MAN DRANK 30 CANS OF PEPSI A DAY FOR 20 YEARS

A Welsh supermarket worker says he spent more than $12,000 a year drinking 30 cans of Pepsi a day for two decades. Andy Currie, 41, would drink a liter every morning and a further nine liters throughout the day. He has downed an estimated 219,000 cans of Pepsi – containing nearly 8,000 kg of sugar or the equivalent of seven million sugar cubes – since he first started drinking it in his 20s. Andy, from Bangor in north Wales, said he worked nights and liked the sugar rush to keep him going. He worked at Tesco, a supermarket, so he’d just buy it after work and take it home. But now, he’s been cured. After just one online hypnotherapy session, Andy says he was cured and drank water for the first time in two decades. Water is all he drinks now. He’s lost a lot of weight, his wife says his skin looks better and he has a lot more energy.
* Andy has said that he’d now like to try “this coffee stuff” he’s heard so much about.
* With all the burping he had the carbon dioxide footprint of a Greyhound bus.
* Did he at least make some of his money back on the cans?
* Pepsi has announced they’re shutting down the brand – after this guy, no one else drinks it, on purpose at least.
* I imagine there’ll be about 20 complimentary cases of Red Bull sitting on this guy’s front porch with a sign that says “Try me” after this story gets around.
