VOTE ON NEW “COMMUNITY CHEST” CARDS FOR MONOPOLY

Monopoly, the game no one plays anymore, is now going to update its yellow Community Chest cards. Instead of “Bank error in your favor, collect $200” or “Doctor’s fee, pay $50” or “It’s your birthday. Collect $10 from every player,” they’re asking people to go to MonopolyCommunityChest.com and vote on a series of updated cards, such as:
– “Your fuzzy friends at the animal shelter will be thankful for your donation. Pay $50.”
– “Your cousin forgot their wallet! You’ll happily pay for dinner. Pay $50.”
– “You rescue a puppy – and you feel rescued, too! Get out of jail free.”
– “You volunteer to run the social media accounts for a non-profit art center. Collect $100.”
– “You help your neighbor bring in her groceries. She makes you lunch to say thanks! Collect $20.”
– “Blasting music late at night? Your neighbors do not approve. Go to jail, go directly to jail.”
The cards with the most votes will be added to future games. Voting ends April 9.
* In the old days, companies used to hire people called “employees” to make these things called “decisions.”
* Monopoly really could be much more creative with these:
– “The lady in front of you at the self-checkout left her debit card behind. Collect $1500 from her bank account before she reports the missing card.”
– “Pretend to get a phone call with an emergency that’s calling you away from the restaurant, make your brother-in-law pay for the meal. Save $150.”
* “You win an injury lawsuit due to the catastrophic failure of a brand-new bidet. Collect $700.”
– “A week of porch pirating brought you a lot of cool stuff you sold on eBay. Collect $300.”
– “Drunkenly smash your car into a guy’s house, but you can afford a better lawyer. Win $10,000 in damages, but pay your lawyer $20,000.”
