TRIAL HALTED AFTER MONKEY STEALS EVIDENCE
A murder trial in Jaipur, India has been postponed after a monkey stole several pieces of key evidence before the trial reached court. Fifteen separate items of evidence are missing. As the case against two men charged with murder came to trial, Jaipur police were ordered to produce the evidence. Police responded with the news that, at the time of the murder in 2016, the evidence was collected and placed in an evidence packet, but due to a “lack of space” it was temporarily kept under a tree. That’s when it was snatched up by a monkey who fled the scene. None of the evidence, including a knife believed to be the murder weapon, has been recovered since.
* What kind of kangaroo court is this where a monkey steals the evidence?
* The judge went bananas!
* The monkey turned the trial into a circus.
* Can they charge the tree with some sort of crime?
* Great. Now there’s a monkey on the loose with a knife.
* This country has nuclear weapons. Just sayin’.
