TOY HALL OF FAME WINNER: SAND
The Toy Hall of Fame announced the three 2021 inductees are American Girl Dolls, the board game Risk, and sand. The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester said the inductees were chosen from a field of 12 finalists that also included Battleship, billiards, Cabbage Patch Kids, the Fisher-Price Corn Popper, Mahjong, Masters of the Universe, the pinata, the Settlers of Catan and the toy fire engine. The three winners were inducted during a special “ceremony” at the museum.
* After the ceremony, both employees spun back around to their computer monitors and continued playing Fortnite.
* Sand is now insisting everyone call it MISTER Sand.
* Over all these years, sand really hung in there. It’s got grit.
* Was there any reaction from sand’s big brother, gravel?
* Now that American Girl Dolls has our attention for a moment, can we call out how sexist and un-woke it is?
