TOUR DE FRANCE BIKE CRASH WOMAN ARRESTED, EXPRESSES REMORSE
The woman who caused a mass pile-up at the Tour de France bike race has been arrested. The 30-year-old woman, who has not been named, was arrested on Thursday, five days after the accident on Saturday that left dozens of cyclists with cuts and bruises and one with fractured hands. The woman was found in the city of Brest, France. She is a French citizen and, according to officials, she has expressed her feelings of shame and fear about the consequences of her act. She said she is worried about the media attention for what she has called her “stupidity.” Meanwhile, Tour de France race officials say they are withdrawing their legal complaint against her. Race director Christian Prudhomme said, “The incident has been blown out of all proportion.”
* Or, in French, “Sacre-bleu, this sacre-blows.”
* I bet police couldn’t wait to get their hands on the woman in Brest.
* “The incident has been blown out of all proportion.” Unless you’re the guy with the fractured hands.
* French legal scholars say it’s a clear-cut case of “Que sera sera.”
* In her defense, none of the French cyclists honked their French horns.
* Just keep her away from the Boston Marathon.
