TIMES SQUARE COOKIE MONSTER STABBED
In Times Square, New York, a man wearing a Cookie Monster costume was stabbed Saturday night when he intervened in a fight between a man wearing a Tuskegee Airman costume and a man dressed as an American Indian. According to police, the Airman was arguing with the Indian over the insensitivity of his costume. Cookie Monster stepped in to stop the argument, but then the Tuskegee Airman whipped out a knife and stabbed Cookie in the back. Inside the costume, Christopher Ramos, 24, suffered a lacerated spleen, although his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. The Airman and Native American-clad man remain at large.
* Oscar the Grouch was there, too, but all he did was laugh when Cookie got stabbed.
* I’ll bet you 100 bucks the only one charged in this is the guy dressed up as the Indian, for appropriating someone else’s culture.
* Anyway, they’re probably dressed as Frankenstein and the Pillsbury Doughboy by now.
* I knew those guys in costumes down at Times Square had been a little too quiet lately.
* Where’s the super-heroes when you really need them?
* I’ve never seen a happy story with the word “lacerated” in it.
* They knew it was serious when they offered the Cookie Monster a cookie and he said, “No thanks.”
