JASON KELCE AND STEVIE NICKS RECORD A CHRISTMAS DUET

Jason Kelce and Stevie Nicks have released their Christmas duet. The unlikely pair released a cover of Ron Sexsmith’s “Maybe This Christmas.” The festive song will appear on Jason’s annual Philadelphia-themed holiday album, A Philly Special Christmas Party. The proceeds from the album go to Philadelphia charities. The athlete also called Nicks “one of the nicest people I’ve ever talked to” with an “absolutely beautiful personality.” The collaboration between Jason and Nicks isn’t a complete coincidence, as Stevie Nicks is friends with Taylor Swift — who’s dating Jason’s brother Travis (* Maybe you’ve heard something about that). Jason said that “to actually be on a track with Stevie Nicks. I mean, absolutely unreal. She’s probably the most legendary female singer, especially of her generation … the fact that I’m singing with her, this legend, is pretty unreal.”
* Legendarily unreal, even. Well said.
* Stevie Nicks – the new Tony Bennett.
* Surprise – it’s not ho-ho-horrible.
* If you listen closely, you can hear Lindsey Buckingham pounding on the studio door demanding to be let in. Or maybe out.
* When I want Christmas music, my first stop is always a retired NFL center.
* (song is on YouTube here: youtube(dot)(com)/watch?v=A_Eyn8yuL2o&t=133s)

WHOOPI GOLDBERG LAUNCHES ALL-FEMALE SPORTS NETWORK

Whoopi Goldberg announced on Wednesday that she is launching a new TV network devoted entirely to women’s sports. It’s called the AWSN – the All Women’s Sports Network. The network will launch early next year. Whoopi says, “It will be the home for live women’s sports and we have everything, from soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball, judo, cricket and more.”
* But probably mostly volleyball – beach volleyball, if the Olympics are any indicator.
* Look out NFL – here comes ladies cricket!
* How did Oprah not do this already? Asleep at the wheel?
* If there’s one thing that the world desperately needs today, it’s another TV channel.
* On the other hand – more sports to bet on! Yayyy!
* The thrill of victory, the agony of a UTI!

U.S. NEWS

DISNEY GUESTS COMPLAIN RE-TOOLED SPLASH MOUNTAIN RIDE TOO WET

Disney World visitors are now complaining that the park’s new attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, makes them too wet. The recently opened ride, inspired by “The Princess and the Frog,” has replaced Splash Mountain. Said one complainer, “We bought insanely overpriced ponchos before the ride, but it didn’t really help. Our shoes and bodies were soaked. We would only do this again if we had a complete change of clothes or could run back to a hotel room on the property. It’s not fun to us.” That person went on to explain, “They have re-weighted the cars and tweaked the water so that there are inches of water in the bottom of the car when you get in and you are drenched by the end.”
* I’ve got news for you: that’s not the only place where Disney soaks you.
* If only there was a way to not go on the ride.
* Hey, at least they’re keeping the alligators under control. You could be having a whole different kind of Bayou Adventure.
* This takes “It’s not the heat, it’s the humidity” to a whole new level.
* The answer is to run over to the Dumbo ride to blow-dry.

MAN DIES IN TANNING BED

A man missing for three days was discovered dead in a Planet Fitness tanning bed Monday in Indianapolis. The body of Derek Sink, 39, was found around 9 a.m. — about four hours after the fitness center opened for business. The gym closes at 9 p.m. on Fridays and is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. On Sunday, Mr. Sink was reported missing by family who had not heard from him since Friday. A woman who visited the gym Monday morning said a foul smell was wafting through the building before the body was found in the tanning bed. (* Have you been to a gym? How can you tell the difference?) A needle was found in the tanning room at Planet Fitness. Mr. Sink’s family told the local news that he had dealt with drug problems, but he will be remembered as a kindly person.
* He was kindly; now he’s sorta jerky.
* Please tell me nobody said “Stick a fork in him, he’s done.”
* Came THIS CLOSE to a free cremation.
* I do feel sorry for the family. They’ve still got to pay two more years on his gym membership.

DAVE COULIER HAS CANCER

Comedian Dave Coulier has been diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The “Full House” star revealed his health struggle on the “Today” show Wednesday. The 65-year-old comedian has since started chemotherapy treatment, which was “intense” and “scared the daylights” out of him. “There are days where I feel unbelievable. Then there’s other days where … I’m just going to lay down and let this be what it’s going to be.” Dave is expected to finish treatment in February 2025 after undergoing six rounds of chemo every three weeks. Coulier said he told his wife, Melissa, “I’m OK with whatever the news [is] going to be no matter how devastating. … I’ve had an incredible life. I’ve had the most amazing people in my life.
