JAMES BROWN ESTATE TO TURN INTO ANOTHER GRACELAND

There are plans to turn the late great soul singer James Brown’s estate in Augusta, Georgia, into a regional tourist destination, similar to Elvis Presley’s Graceland. While the city of Augusta is known for hosting the annual Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, Georgia, the city doesn’t have much else. Throughout the city of Augusta, there are reminders of James Brown’s life such as statues, murals and even references to his music. Brown died on Christmas Day in 2006. Afterwards, his estate was in an ongoing battle among estate trustees and people claiming to be his heirs. A music publishing company called Primary Wave purchased Brown’s estate in 2021 for $90 million. The company now owns his music, name and likeness, and his mansion, a large single-story ranch home sitting on a 60-acre estate which includes an Asian garden, more than a dozen cars and two tour buses. The home still contains some of the original furniture, monogrammed towels and cartons of hair products. In the living room is Christmas tree complete with presents that remains untouched. The plans are to restore the mansion and turn it into a museum.
* A funky, funky museum. Which undoubtedly will pull in all those fans of golf who are down there for the Masters.
* I can see actual monogrammed towels and cartons of hair products? I’m there!!!
* The presents are still untouched under the tree, which is sad, because that was the year someone gave James Brown a new puppy.
* A single-story ranch home. So budget about 25 minutes to see everything.
* James Brown and Elvis Presley have another thing in common: their taste in decorating. (You can see video tours of his house on YouTube.)

WEIRD THING YOU BELIEVED AS A KID

Reddit asked, “What’s the weirdest thing you believed as a child?” Some of the responses:
– “My brother had me convinced for a while that each person had to have a unique favorite color, and since his was blue, I had to change mine. On my first day of kindergarten, we had to introduce ourselves and say our favorite color. The kids in front of me picked the “good” colors, and I panicked and told everyone my favorite color was grey.”
– “My mom explained to me that we all had belly buttons because that’s how our moms fed us before we were born. So I thought when you got pregnant, your belly button opened up and you just shoved chicken legs in there.”
– “When I was about 4, my older sister told me that since the population of Japan was so high, Japanese people slept sideways on their beds so they could fit more people on every bed.”
– “That all cats are girls and all dogs are boys.”
– “My kids believed for a few years that their ears turned red when they were lying. Whenever they told me a lie, they covered their ears.”
– “When you got ‘fired’ your job blew you up.”
– “That all of the inanimate objects in my house were sentient and could understand me if I spoke to them. Once, before leaving on a family vacation for a week, I went from room to room and said goodbye to all of the furniture.”

OFF-DUTY COP URINATED ON WOMAN’S COWBOY BOOTS AT KENNY CHESNEY CONCERT

An off-duty police officer was arrested last Saturday night, accused of urinating on a woman’s new cowgirl boots at a Kenny Chesney concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Rhode Island. Officer Shane Lynch was arrested for disorderly conduct and later also charged with wanton destruction of property. The incident happened in the “sandbar” area of the stadium. Police officers working at the concert were asked to go to the sandbar to check on a report from a woman who complained that a man had urinated on her shoes. They found Lynch, who appeared to be “extremely intoxicated, holding a Bud Light can, swaying back and forth with his eyes closed.” His zipper was down, and his shorts appeared wet. The woman told police her new $180 cowgirl boots were ruined.
* Heck, if she was a real cowgirl, that’s called “breaking them in.”
* It’s called the ‘sandbar,’ not the ‘litter box.’
* Well, Kenny WAS singing his Number One hit at the time…
* It’s lucky she’s not a member of the No Shoes Nation. (That’s a Kenny Chesney fan thing)

SCHOOL BUS DRIVER DRIVES SLOW ON HOT DAY TO PUNISH STUDENTS

A school bus driver in Texas is being accused of intentionally driving slowly with all the windows on the bus rolled up in near-100-degree heat in order to punish the kids on her route last week. The kids were on their way home in the Sealy Independent School District, about an hour outside of Houston, Texas. There were 30 kids on the bus. Video shows the students complaining about the heat inside the bus. It also showed the driver stopping the bus and forcing the children to put their windows up. The reason for her actions is unclear, but it’s believed to be that some of the students were putting their hands out of the windows. It took the bus 30 minutes to drive 3 miles, but it should have taken only about 6 minutes. The only air circulation on the bus was a fan the driver had for herself. The school district is standing by their employee’s actions, claiming she was driving a speed that they felt was safe on a dirt road.
* She must be from the Old School.
* ♬ “The kids on the bus go melt, melt, melt … melt, melt, melt … melt, melt, melt …” ♫
* It’s the “convection oven” theory of discipline.
* It’s like “Cool Hand Luke” – Punishment for sticking your hands out the windows – a night in the box. Talking back to the bus driver – a night in the box. Complaining about the heat – a night in the box.

4-YEAR-OLD BREAKS 3,500-YEAR-OLD JAR AT MUSEUM

A 3,500-year-old clay jar was completely shattered by a four-year-old visitor at a museum in Haifa, Israel. In a viral photograph, the large jug-handled jar, which dates from the Bronze Age, can be seen lying cracked and destroyed in its open exhibit at the Hecht Museum. It was especially rare due to it being fully intact. The jar had been displayed at the museum’s entrance, without glass or barriers because the museum believes there is a “special charm” in showing archaeological finds “without obstructions” like glass screens. The boy reportedly pulled on the jar because he was curious about what was inside, causing it to fall and shatter on the floor. The museum reportedly reacted with understanding, welcoming the family to return any time.
* Although, if they do return, please bring $800,000.
* Gee, the museum people don’t seem very broken up about it.
* If it’s from the Bronze Age, why didn’t it just clunk when it hit the floor?
* The museum believes there is a “special charm” in showing archaeological finds “without obstructions” like glass screens. Their collection is also only half as big as it used to be.
* PHONE TOPIC: I once broke something very, very expensive.

MUSEUM OFFERS NUDE NIGHTS

The Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations in Marseille, France, has a special exhibition of nudes this month – photographs, paintings, sculptures and other artworks made by people in naturist communities. So why not invite the public to strip down? One evening a month during the show, guests are invited to view the works of art naked, except you have to wear shoes. The exhibition runs until December 9th.
* The exhibitionists run until December 8th.
* You have to wear shoes so you don’t stumble. They don’t want you falling between the cracks.
* The paintings won’t be the only things hanging.
* Be warned that they turn the air conditioning waaaayyy up.
* It sounds artsy, but really, the museum director is just a perv who likes to see naked people.
