BAR PATRON BEATEN UP OVER JUKEBOX SELECTION
Early Tuesday morning in Providence, Rhode Island, a man was dragged out of a bar and beaten up over his song selection on the jukebox. The victim, a man in his 40s, told police he had been at Deadbeats Bar when three men started a fight with him over a song he selected on the jukebox. The suspects — while males in their 30s — dragged him outside and began assaulting him. The victim told police he lost consciousness and that he thought his jaw might be broken. As per usual in these kind of stories, no one is saying what song led to the beating.
* I wanna say “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.” Any other guesses?
* “Beat Me Daddy, Eight to the Bar”? “Hit Me with Your Best Shot”? “Beat It”? “Kung Fu Fighting”?
* Deadbeats Bar or Beat ’em Dead Bar?
* Maybe they weren’t beating him up; maybe it was a mosh pit.
2-YEAR-OLD MISTAKENLY SERVED ALCOHOL AT JAPANESE RESTAURANT
A California family say their 2-year-old daughter was mistakenly served alcohol at a Salinas restaurant, resulting in a trip to the emergency room. It happened at a large family dinner at the Fujiyama Japanese Restaurant. The parents ordered apple juice for their daughter’s drink. It was served inside a normal juice cup with a lid. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until the toddler started showing signs of intoxication that they realized the juice cup had cooking wine inside. The parents spent the night at Salinas Valley Emergency Room. They said a blood test revealed an alcohol level of 0.12% in their daughter’s system.
* The ER? They should have taken her to Waffle House for some strong coffee.
* The signs of intoxication were alarming. Their 2-year-old started arguing politics and tried to pick a fight with the restaurant’s fish tank.
* You think the “Terrible Twos” are bad? Imagine one with a hangover.
* Parents in France are hearing this story and rolling their eyes.
MAYORAL CANDIDATE PROMISES TO LET AI RUN THE CITY
A librarian running for mayor of Cheyenne, Wyoming, promises that, if elected, he will allow an artificial intelligence bot to govern the state’s capital city. Victor Miller, a 42-year-old human, appeared at a meet-and-greet where he explained how he would run the city with an AI bot called “VIC” for “Virtual Integrated Citizen.” He said the AI bot would benefit democracy because it could remain objective and free of mistakes and govern more efficiently by processing hundreds of pages of municipal minutiae. Miller says if he wins the election, he will attend ribbon-cutting ceremonies and shake hands, but VIC, the AI bot, would serve as the executive and decide whether to sign or veto legislation.
* It’s Wyoming, a state with about 8 people. What damage can it possibly do?
* If elected, VIC is going to change the state motto from “Equal Rights” to “Klaatu barada nikto.”
* Where’s the part about, since he won’t be doing anything, he won’t get a paycheck?
* He had this idea ten years ago, but since AI wasn’t very developed, he was going to use a Magic 8 Ball.

A Peruvian soccer player was sent out of the game for unsportsmanlike conduct after urinating by the side of the pitch during a match. Sebastian Munoz, a player for Atletico Awajun, was caught relieving himself during a break while the opposition goalkeeper was receiving treatment for an injury. Officials gave Munoz a red card.
* And he yelled “Gee, whiz!”
* I thought they had a yellow card for those things.
* Well, they say he’s a real whiz on the field.
* Maybe he got confused when the Peruvian cheerleaders shouted, “Gimme a P!”
* Who leaked this story?
