THE MOST DANGEROUS COUNTRIES

Medical and security consultancy International SOS revealed their annual list of The Most Dangerous Countries To Travel To. The criteria: security, medical care, climate change, and mental health.
– Ukraine, Iraq, Yemen, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, and Somalia are ranked as the countries with the highest level of risk for the upcoming year.
* Great news – Gaza’s not on the list! Pack your bags, everybody!
* Every single one of those except Ukraine and Iraq was also on the list three years ago, so – Nice job cleaning up your act, everybody!
– Iceland, Luxembourg, Norway, Switzerland, and Denmark are safe enough. Iceland was specifically ranked as the safest country for 2024, thanks to low violent crime rates and minimal targeted violence against foreigners.
* That’ll change when everyone starts going there ’cause it’s so safe.
* Wait – What if you slip and fall in Iceland? Is that safe? No, it is not.

BUT WAIT! Two hours after this “Iceland Is Safe” story came across the internet, came this story:
VOLCANO ERUPTS IN ICELAND
A volcanic eruption has started in Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula, the fourth in three years. The eruption appears to be at Hagafell, above Grindavík. Says a local Icelandic volcanologist: “This is the worst place… There are super-high plumes of magma, probably 150 metres. This means that the lava is flowing very quickly from the crater. This may be close to the worst case imaginable.”
* The Iceland Tourist Council has just put a hit on this volcanologist guy.
* Yemen doesn’t sound so bad now, huh?
