THE FLAVOR OF 2025: BROWN SUGAR
The Food and Beverage Trends Report has declared the flavor of the year for 2025: Brown sugar. The flavor development company describes brown sugar as a “culinary staple” that adds “a hint of nostalgia” to dishes. They claim brown sugar has become a popular ingredient in everything from baked goods, to sauces, to beverages and more. It has become a favorite in coffee shops, and is also gaining momentum among mixologists in cocktails like Old Fashioneds and dark rum-based drinks.
* And here I was hoping it would be parmesan cheese.
* Best of all, everybody has a solid brick of it in their pantry right now. Which reminds me: the kitchen tools of 2025 will be the hammer and chisel.
