STUDY: PICTURES OF FOOD MAKE YOU LESS HUNGRY, OBVIOUSLY

Does looking at a picture of food make you less hungry? Experiments at Aarhus University in Denmark say yes. Researchers showed over 1,000 participants the same food picture. Some saw it three times, others saw it 30 times. Those who saw the image more frequently reported feeling more satisfied and felt their craving reduced. The participants who were shown the picture many times also chose a smaller portion than those who had only seen the picture three times.
* Or, maybe – just maybe – in the time it takes to watch 30 pictures of food your hunger has passed. Where’s my honorary degree, Aarhus University of Denmark?
* The craving was reduced even more in people who ate the pictures.
* Obviously this theory is true, and hundreds of food makers and millions of commercials over the past 70 years have been wrong.
* You know what kind of pictures make people completely stop being hungry? Pictures of food with bugs crawling all over it.
* That’s great. Now try the experiment with pictures of the Kardashians, see if people lose interest in them.
