STUDY: HANGRY IS REAL, FOLKS
Researchers in Europe have discovered that “hangry” is a real thing – feeling hungry really does lead to more anger and irritability. The study, from Anglia Ruskin University in England and Karl Landsteiner University in Austria, asked 64 adults to record their levels of hunger throughout the day over a three-week period. They also kept track of their emotional well-being, recording their feelings at the time on a specialized smartphone app five times a day. The study found that hunger accounted for roughly a third of the variance in a person’s emotional well-being throughout the day.
* This study has Snickers’ fingerprints all over it. Chocolatey, greasy, smeary fingerprints.
* The takeaway here is, always have plenty of snacks nearby.
* All this really proves is that research undergrads all over Europe still wait until the night before their topic is due to come up with some goofy idea for a study.
* Tomorrow we’ll bring you the scientific results of whether jeggings are jeans or leggings.
* Well, that was a stupid waste of time, and somebody get me a donut, dammit!
