STOLEN CAR RETURNED WITH MONEY, APOLOGY NOTE
In Portland, Oregon, a woman stole Erin Hatzi’s red Subaru Tuesday night. Hatzi’s driveway security camera caught the lady climbing in and taking off. Hatzi filed a police report Wednesday morning. But on Wednesday afternoon, the car returned to the front of the house. Inside was some cash and a note explaining how the woman had gone to the area to pick up a friend’s red Subaru as a favor and ended up taking the wrong car. The note read: “Hello, So sorry I stole your car. I sent my friend with my key to pick up my red Subaru and she came back with your car. I did not see the car until this morning and I said, ‘That is not my car.’ There is some cash for gas and I more than apologize for the shock and upset this must have caused you. If you need to speak further, with me, I am ******* and my number is ………. So so sorry for this mistake.” Hatzi says all was forgiven.
* Good to know that all Subarus use the same key, though.
* It’s Oregon. How stoned was this woman?
* “Dude, Where’s My Car 2: Dude, Never Mind, It’s Back.”
* I don’t know if I’m buying this. Not the model, the story.
* Did they check to see if there was a body in the trunk?
* Half a million cars are stolen every year in the U.S., so I guess eventually there had to be one happy ending.
* See, this is where the driverless cars will be better. You just call them and tell them to come home.
* It’s probably an honest mistake. Half of Portland is driving around in Subarus. It’s like the official car.
* There’s got to be more to the story. Was the car left there after a wild night of shame?
* If so, I’d like to hear more about that, please.
* PHONE TOPIC: Did you ever accidentally steal something? Did you return it?
