THINGS WE HAVE IN AMERICA THAT FOREIGNERS WISH THEY HAD
Reddit community members were asked: “Non-Americans of Reddit, what is popular in the US that you wish was more popular where you live?” Some of the answers:
– “I forget what it’s called, but the blender inside the kitchen sink that makes your food waste into a smoothie instead of you having to fish it out in clumps with your hands.” They mean a garbage disposal.
– “Going to the bathroom in a public space without having to pay money.”
– “Breakfast foods available after 10:30 a.m.”
– “Mexican food and little grocery stores/deli shops on every corner.”
– “Peanut butter. I recently tried peanut butter and jelly and was blown away by how good it was.”
– “A truly great and protective National Parks Service. I’m Australian and we have plenty of sacred and special areas of land, but they’re slowly but surely being exploited by fossil fuel companies.”
– “Unlimited coffee refills.”
– “24/7 diners.”
– “Cereal! We don’t have ANY good breakfast cereal in Nepal.”
– “Hostess donettes mini powdered donuts. I have not found anything like them in the UK. Could eat a whole bag of them in one sitting they were so good.”
– “Libraries.”
– “Easy refunds. I just went to Italy and bought the wrong date for some museums and was told tough luck. Lost 45 euros…”
– “Free water at restaurants.”
– “The amount of flavors. Every single brand seems to have like 15 different versions.”
– “Ranch dressing. Never ever saw it here in Germany.”
* It’s good to know that, no matter how bad the politics get and how much you want to just move to another country, you won’t because America has peanut butter and ranch dressing any time you want it.
* Breakfast foods available after 10:30 a.m.? Oh, get off your butt and fry an egg, you lazy whiner.
* Somebody in Nepal wants cereal? Doesn’t Amazon ship to Nepal?
* Why has no one mentioned ice? Ever tried to find ice in Europe? There’s, like, one ice machine on the whole continent and every country has to share it.
* Foreigners always mention how much they like our food. They never mention our food inspection system, which a lot of these countries might want to adopt.
* You’re welcome to take James Corden back, if you want.
