SCUBA DIVERS LEFT ABANDONED IN THE OCEAN
An Australian mom and her two sons went scuba diving in Fiji only to surface and find their boat had vanished, stranding them in the middle of the sea. Justine Clark and her two sons Felix, 18, and Max, 20, had gone on the scuba dive on August 14 while on vacation. When they came up, along with a tourist from the UK and a divemaster, the boat was gone, the ocean swell “was two metres, and it was dark with grey clouds and high wind.” The group eventually decided to swim for an island they could see in the distance. By sheer luck a boat collecting trash from the ocean spotted the group swimming, sailed over and pulled them out of the water. Meanwhile, the diving company, Captain Cook Cruises, said the boat had blown away from the dive area and tracking the group had become impossible in the bad weather.
* And yet a garbage scow managed to do it. Go figure.
* Did the garbage stink anywhere near as much as the cruise company’s excuse?
* And then the diving company had the nerve to charge them for the Deluxe Diving Package.
* If only there was some kind of, I don’t know, heavy weight on a chain you could drop into the ocean to keep your ship in the same place.
* Captain Cook Cruises, as in “Our goose is Cooked.”
* Other than that, how’d they enjoy the trip?
