RUSSIA FINES GOOGLE AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF MONEY

A Russian court has ordered Google to pay a fine for blocking 17 Russian television channels and other media outlets from YouTube because they support President Vladimir Putin’s regime and its invasion of Ukraine. That fine: $20 decillion dollars. That’s 20 followed by 33 zeros. That amount is larger than the size of the entire global economy, which the International Monetary Fund puts at around $110 trillion, or 110 followed by 12 zeroes. (* It’s also larger than a googol , which is a 1 followed by 100 zeroes.) Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said about the ridiculous number: “The company should not restrict our broadcasters on their platform.”
* $20 decillion dollars is almost as much as I’ve spent on cable and streaming this year.
