RESTAURANT ROBBER PREPARES MEAL, LEAVES TIP

A burglar broke into a Long Island restaurant, emptied the cash register, cooked a meal and washed the dishes. Owner Will Colon found bent window bars when he arrived Tuesday at Nelly’s Taqueria in Hicksville, New York. Security video showed the intruder put on food-service gloves and started heating up a pot before hammering the register open. He pocketed the money and put a dollar in the tip jar. Then, Colon says, the man started “cooking up a storm” in the dark – beans, chicken, shrimp. After eating, he covered and refrigerated the food and wiped down surfaces. Colon says “the dude had some skills.”
* Maybe the guy did it as a job interview?
* Or else it’s one of the cooks who hasn’t had a raise in five years.
* Wait – bent window bars? Does Superman have an alibi?
* If you prepare your own meal, shouldn’t you tip yourself?
* This begs the question: Do you really want to eat at a restaurant owned by a man named Colon?
