RESTAURANT OWNERS SENTENCED TO MASSIVE JAIL TERM FOR FRAUD

Two restaurant owners in Thailand have been sentenced to 723 years in prison after defrauding the public with a seafood promotion. Apichart Bowornbancharak and Prapassorn Bawornban (* Easy for YOU to say!), owners of the Laemgate Infinite restaurant, sold coupons to 347 customers that entitled them to the seafood buffet at an extremely low price of 88 Thai baht ($3). But they later reneged on the promotion, leading to complaints from hundreds of disgruntled customers. Prosecutors charged that the owners were aware their offer could not be fulfilled. The pair pleaded guilty and were sentenced to 1,446 years in prison, which was reduced to a much better 723 years. While Thailand often issues lengthy prison sentences, in actual practice the two will not serve more than 20 years in prison. They were also fined 1,807,500 baht ($58,500).
* Which they’ll easily be able to pay from all the money they make during their 723 YEARS IN PRISON.
* Right from the start, that seafood promotion sounded fishy.
* Dummies! Just put out the buffet, but fill every bowl with 50% stinky cheese.
* I don’t even want to imagine what you’d be eating at a $3 seafood buffet.
