RATTLESNAKE FALLS OUT OF TREE INTO PASSING KAYAK
So, you’re out with friends kayaking on the Edisto River in South Carolina when you pass under a tree, and a 2-foot-long rattlesnake falls out of the tree into your kayak. It happened to 28-year-old Barry McRoy. The rattlesnake fell out of a tree and bit him on his hand, twice. Suffering a lot of swelling and airway problems, McRoy’s friends got him to a boat landing where rescuers were able to rush him to a hospital, which had antivenin waiting in the emergency room.
* Snakes are now jumping out of trees to attack us. Good to know.
* Does the rattlesnake look at a man in a kayak and think, “Yeah, I can take this guy”?
* How much swelling? He looked like he had one of those giant “Number One” foam hands.
* This is why I always kayak with my Hello Kitty sun parasol.
* If the bobcats start trying this, things are gonna get dicey.
