PROFESSIONAL WEDDING OBJECTOR WILL GET YOU OUT OF YOUR WEDDING

A Spanish man has turned what was a prank into a steady business of being paid to object at couples’ weddings. Ernesto Reinares Varea said he posted an ad as a joke that read, “If you have doubts or don’t want to get married and don’t know how to refuse, don’t worry anymore, I’ll object to your wedding. You just need to tell me the time, place, and date. I’ll show up at the ceremony, claim to be the love of your life, and we’ll leave hand in hand.” People started contacting him to actually show up at their wedding and say “I object.” He charges 500 Euros (US$550), but if anybody hits him it costs an extra 50. Some hire him as a joke, others are serious about not wanting to get married. Varea says he is currently booked through December.
* The real money is in being paid to sit at the kid’s table and babysit.
