PLAYBOY MANSION GETS PROTECTED STATUS

The infamous Playboy Mansion will be permanently protected from being demolished by a new agreement between the city of Los Angeles and the property’s new owner, Daren Metropoulos. Some had been seeking basic landmark status for the 20,000-square-foot party mansion. But the permanent protection covenant will allow alterations and forbid demolition without a review. The protection will also remain in effect for future owners.
