PILOT DIES IN AIRPLANE RESTROOM
On Sunday night, a pilot collapsed and died in the bathroom during a commercial flight from Miami to Chile — prompting an emergency landing in Panama. Iván Andaur, 56, was at the controls of the Santiago-bound LATAM airlines flight when he suffered apparent cardiac arrest. One passenger said a co-pilot asked if there were any doctors on the plane about 40 minutes after takeoff. His two co-pilots were forced to make an emergency landing in Panama City — as a nurse and two doctors onboard rushed to try and save him.
* Did he have the fish?
* What a way to go. And, what a way to go.
* Used to be pilots just fell asleep at the controls.
* Somebody’s been skipping their annual checkups.
* How come this airlines give you two co-pilots, when American airlines only give you one co-pilot? And, they’re trying to eliminate pilots completely! Although, based on this story, it seems to be happening on its own.
