PETITION TO MOVE LEAP DAY TO JUNE 31

A British man wants to change the ‘leap day’ on February 29 to June 31 – so we get an extra day of summer. Chris Snowdon first had the idea last year when he realized leap day being on February 29 is ‘arbitrary.’ He says the date ‘has to be in June’ – since July and August both have 31 days each already, and June still has good weather. Chris thinks moving the day would improve public well-being in the Northern Hemisphere. He’s launched a petition on Change.org for the move, aimed at the British Government to see if they can get the ball rolling. But, notes Chris, “We’d need every government in the world to agree.”
* Honestly, this is something we all could agree on. Except in Saudi Arabia. I’m sure they don’t need another day of summer.
* Tons and tons of software would have to be rewritten, but we could send the bills to Chris Snowden.
* When he was told his plan would give Australia another day of winter, Chris made the hand gesture for pounding sand.
* What if we move it to May 32nd? That way, we get an extra vacation day for Memorial Day every four years.
